14 weeks and time to start belly pictures!

Baby's now the size of a lemon!

Your adorable little fetus is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, (not so cute but equally amazing) making urine, and breathing amniotic fluid as the liver, kidneys, and spleen continue to develop. Lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over her body for warmth.

We are now in the 14th week!! Everything is going great (minus some nights of heartburn).

God was watching over us last Thursday night (12/8) when Chris and I got into a car accident. We were driving home from a D-League basketball game and decided to take the "back road" instead of the highway. We were about 15 miles from the house when an ambulance passed us going the opposite direction, so we slowed down and pulled to the side. Not a half mile later, we saw more flashing lights on the other side of a little hill. We started to slow down and pulled to the side, and that's when we hit the black ice. The ice pulled the explorer into the other lane and onto a grassy area. To put the location in perspective, we were on an upper road, with a lower road to the left of us. We weren't slowing down after hitting the grass and went airborne, over a cop car who was there for a different accident. We landed on the other side of the lower road and went head on into a tree. Luckily, while we were mid air I pulled my legs up to protect the baby, instinctively. God was really watching over us, because after all of that, we were still OK. I had to be transferred to the hospital via ambulance, all strapped in with a neck brace, as well. We got to the E.R. and they immediately did an ultrasound and saw that the baby was doing great. I then had to go in for X-Rays of my leg, they thought I had broke tibia/fibula, but it turns out that it was a deep bone bruise. Chris got hit with the air bag and had a few scrapes and cuts, but nothing too serious. We were ridiculously sore for the next few days, but are feeling much better.
