Weeks 28 & 29; Nursery Progress

I decided to take my birthday week off last week, so let's play catch up.

I had an AMAZING birthday that was extended into the weekend when my Mom and Gramma came to CT. We did a lot of shopping and the majority of it was for the little man. He got new toys, clothes, and books. Gramma also made him a wall hanging for the nursery and a baby afghan(adorable!!).

Last Wednesday I had a doctor's appointment and gestational diabetes check. Everything is running in tip top condition and my sugar levels were fabulous. I am on track with my weight gain and they say he is growing at an awesome pace. At 29 weeks, he is weighing in at almost 3lbs and is about 15 inches long. He has started pulling in more calcium to develop stronger bones, and his brain is creating billions of neurons a day.

Here are 2 weeks worth of belly pictures:

And now NURSERY PROGRESS (which really only took place today!)

We love the progress that is being made! The bedding set is absolutely adorable and the furniture is beautiful! You might be able to see that the walls are grey and the furniture is a dark cherry. More decorating pictures coming soon!

Week 27

I think CP3 already has his preferences of who calms him at 27 weeks. This past weekend, my mom, stepdad, and little brother came to CT and wouldn't you know? The entire day they were here CP3 barely moved. I think Gramma has a calming effect and hopefully that lasts when he gets here. It was too funny because the day after they left, little man would not stop kicking and flipping and jumping!

At 27 weeks, CP3 still weighs in around 2.5 lbs and is a little over 14.5 inches long. Imagine the size of a head of cauliflower (that's pretty gross actually). He is waking and sleeping at regular intervals (except when Gramma is around), opening and closing his eyes, and maybe sucking on his fingers. He also has more brain tissue developing, making his brain very active.

With the third trimester right around the corner, I have definitely noticed some changes over the past week or so. Some nights I wake up with a huge cramp in my left leg, always in the same spot. I have also been had some awful back pain last night and my feet were killing me, but that is probably because I was go, go, go all day. And I'm not sure why, but it seems like my belly is tighter and every few hours it almost feels as if it is cramping and I have to sit down for awhile.

My belly button has been popped out for quite a few weeks
and I've heard that's not very common?

Note: According to one of the books I have from my OB, I should be packing my hospital bag this week. SAY WHAT!?! Really???? Oh my word, time is flying by!

Week 26

I swear, this week we have been able to see my belly grow, it seems like! I woke up a few days ago and noticed my belly seemed SO much bigger and Chris agrees! I guess they were right when they said between weeks 24 and 28 we will notice big changes!

So 26 weeks. I can now tell the difference between little man's kicks/punches and his stretches/trying to get comfy positions. I still absolutely love all of the movements he makes and been able to see them as well. He is about the size of a head of lettuce, weighs almost 2.5 lbs, and is measuring in around 14.5 inches ( from his little head to those tiny toes). His eyes are almost ready to open, but not quite yet. His eyelashes are fully grown and his is practicing his breathing every day. I have been feeling great and been heartburn free for the past 3 nights!

We received some great news this week, but a little too soon to share. Hopefully we will know all specifics within the next week!

Now for the bump:

Sorry for the glare. It is 70 degrees out right now and I wanted all the doors and windows open to let in some fresh, spring air! Now it's time to enjoy it and clean out my soon to be veggie garden!

Week 25

A little late, but this week have been busy for me! I FINALLY put together our living room. Before, it was just a big empty room and we were basically living upstairs only. I am so glad I finally got some of it put together, though not in the way I want it exactly. I'm sure we will still be upstairs for the most part anyway :/

Makeshift Couch, since I can't help hubby get our real couch in here.

My little reading corner, with my rocking chair from Gram!

And now baby updates. We are 25 weeks (but since it's Sunday, we are almost 26 weeks)! I can tell that little man is awake more through out the day and he has been letting me know when it's time to eat! Little man is now about 14 inches long, and weighs about 2 lbs. This week, he finally knows which way is up and which is down, but he still just likes to stick his butt straight out. At least a couple times a day, I will look down to see my belly bigger on the left side where he sticks out his butt!

I have been starting to wake up more and more in the middle of the night, but I can usually fall back asleep within 20 minutes or so. I still have the heartburn at least once a night, no matter what I eat, but other than that, I'm feeling good!

While putting together the living room, I found a few pictures of Chris and I when we were kids:

Chris at about 18mo

Me at about 18mo.

Side by side, with me at about a year? Mom, let me know!
